Introduction
Scoutlor ("Scoutlor", "we", "us", or "our") operates the athlete-discovery platform available at scoutlor.com and its related apps and services (together, the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
We are an Israel-first platform and handle personal information in line with Israel's Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, and - where it applies to you - the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Account details - your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and password.
- Profile information - your sport, positions, height, weight, dominant side, playing history, statistics, club, and location.
- Media - the intro video, highlight reels, and photos you upload.
- Identity-verification data - the identity documents and selfies you submit so our staff can confirm you are a real, named person.
- Scout and club details - organisation, role, and credentials for scouts, clubs, and agents.
- Payment information - billing details processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data - device, browser, IP address, pages viewed, and actions taken on the Platform.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Verify your identity and keep the Platform trustworthy.
- Help the right scouts, clubs, and agents discover you, and enable direct messaging.
- Process membership payments and send billing notifications.
- Provide support, send service updates, and improve the Platform.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
Legal bases for processing
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you (to run your account and membership); your consent (for example, to publish your profile and process identity documents); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Platform); and compliance with legal obligations.
You can withdraw consent at any time, though doing so may limit your ability to use parts of the Platform.
Identity verification
Verification is core to Scoutlor. When you submit identity documents, our trained staff review them only to confirm your identity. We treat these documents as sensitive and restrict access to authorised personnel.
Once verification is complete, we retain only the minimum record needed to show your verified status, and we delete or securely archive the underlying documents in line with our retention schedule.
Young athletes
Talent starts young, and many of our athletes are minors. If you are under the age of 18, you may only use the Platform with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts this Policy and our Terms of Use on your behalf.
We collect only the information needed to operate a youth athlete's profile, and we apply extra care to how it is displayed and shared. A parent or guardian can review, update, or delete a minor's information at any time by contacting us.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as we need it to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@scoutlor.com. You can also access, export, and delete much of your data directly from your account settings. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority or your local data-protection regulator.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures - including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring - to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires.
International transfers
Scoutlor is built in Israel and our data is primarily hosted within the EU/EEA. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
